This week I got the 1927 Ford Roadster body back from sandblasting. Now the body is in bare, clean metal and ready to fix. You can see the dents and dings much better, and I get to see exactly how bad the rust and rot really is.
I started by removing the rusted back panel by drilling out all the factory installed rivets. I'm not sure how this is going to look when I'm done but now I can stare at it and think. I also fixed the drivers door as best I could. These door will not open when the car is done but they have too fit correctly. I cut the old welds and re-fit the door and tacked it in place. Then I removed a dent on the top of the door by gently heating with a torch and some hammer dolly work. There's a lot more to go but it's started!
