Meet The Players

This client had two cars he was getting ready to take to auction. One of them was this 1968 Camaro, it's a numbers matching SS 396 4 speed car. It had already been painted  but it had been through several owners before it got to my client, so there was some unfinished work and some poorly done work. I had to have the transmission rebuilt, then wrestle with the clutch setup, turned out it had the wrong clutch disc, wrong throwout bearing and wrong pressure plate. These were all installed to try and solve the real issue which was that the flywheel had been surfaced too many times and was too thin to let everything disengage properly. Unfortunately nobody knew this and I had to take the thing apart and put it back together three ties before I figured it out. Oh well, that's the downside of flat rate work.

He's also having me install a tic-toc-tach and a console with gauges, along with fixing a bunch of paint work. Here is the car after the clutch was sorted out and on it's way to my neighbor for the paint fixes.
