Over the last few weeks I have been driving and road testing the Tsukagawa Deuce. Over the weekend Akira, his 81 year old father and his girlfriend flew in from Tokyo for a short vacation, and part of his plan was to drive the car. The weather could not have been any better, and the car drove great. We took the 101 freeway out of Los Angeles and all the way to Santa Barbara. We made one stop at noted automotive artist Tom Fritz's home and studio in the Thousand Oaks neighborhood and I wish I had some photos of the artwork and old dry lakes photos I saw there. Amazing stuff.
At any rate, I drove the car out of Los Angeles traffic and Akira took over around Camarillo. He drove from Camarillo to Santa Barbara along some beautiful coastline. His father rode shotgun the whole time. This drive was a very real milestone in this project which has taken 3 years to get here. I still need to add a top and finish installing the original 1932 Ford Roadster interior. But for now, here's a few pictures.

This is me and Mr. Tsukagawa tooling down the 101 freeway . The car has a great stance. |

It was a beautiful day and even the traffic co-operated with us. |

This is Akira & I. The car drew a lot of attention on the drive, and Akira really seemed to enjoy driving. |
You did it! Super-nice job, Mike. I can't believe this car is so under the radar that no one has commented on it.
