This is a new job I got in late last week. It's a 1958 Oldsmobile Super 88 4 door sedan. This car is huge! !958 was a bit of an akward year for automotive design, it was the first year where all cars had to have four headlights and this drove designers a little batty for some reason. Many cars built in 1958 are one year only, meaning the design changed totally in 1959 and this Oldsmobile is no exception. What that means for restoration work is that parts are hard to come by and not available as reproductions in many cases.
It has received a very thorough body off restoration. This means the car was totally torn down to the very beginning, even to the point where the body itself was removed from the frame. The work is very nice, every nut and bolt is new, the frame is powdercoated gloss black, totally rewired, etc. The car has come to me for the very final assembly and to get it running. Check out the pics!

1958, first year for dual headlights (two on each side). I have to put the bumpers on, the front one will take three guys and a forklift! |

Just look at all that trim. There's a lot of time (and money) in polishing and straightening. |
More gingerbread! This is the height of Jet Age styling. |
Here's a cool feature, the left tail light housing is also... |
The gas filler door! |
THe interior is just beautiful, it is totally custom made and very high quality work. And take a look at the chrome dash. It's all chrome. |

The car has it's factory Oldsmobile V8. Again, a lot of attention to detail under the hood. |
