Meet The Players

This 1955 Plymouth Suburban belongs to a long time client, and friend. I have been working on this car for the last six or seven years, it was brought in by the previous owner for a new motor and she sold it shortly there after. The new owner lives in Vermont and each August he flies and to take the car on a 6 week cruise from Los Angeles  to Seattle with stops all over in between.

Over the past few years I have added all new wiring, new cooling system, redone the brakes, and added an Edelbrock Pro Flo fuel injection system. This year we did all the bodywork, painted it and redid the interior. I even managed to fins some NOS (new old stock) cloth for the interior. This clot was manufactured in 1955 and never used. It is in perfect brand new condition and really makes the interior look great!

He took the car last week for his annual trip, and it looks great going down the road. When he returns I will have all the chrome replated and make a new fuel tank out of stainless with in tank fuel pump. Check it out!

The car was from the Midwest and had never been painted, although there were many homespun body repairs done over the years. Think duct tape. Here's what it looks like now, new paint and proper body work.

The trim was all nice so I just polished it and reinstalled. The chrome needs to be redo, I'll take care of that when John comes back from his vacation.

I had the interior totally redone this time around, it came out very nice. Check out the NOS cloth inserts, I got them from a palce in Portland called SMS Fabrics. They either have it brand new old stock or they make it on the original machinery used in the period.
The rear seat is an 80/20 split, and both seats fold up for more room in the back. There is also a removeable third row seat, it was so nice we left it alone.

The motor is a late model 360 equipped with Edelbrock Pro Flo fuel injection. The car gets a consistent 20 mpg going down the freeway. Nice!
